Asia World Foundation’s donation of a Basic Education High School building in Thayat Kone -1 Village, Naung Cho Township, Northern Shan State

Asia World Foundation’s donation of a Basic Education High School building in Thayat Kone -1 Village, Naung Cho Township, Northern Shan State was officially handed over to the region’s Ministry of Education on 29 January 2019. At the opening ceremony, Director General of Civil Aviation Department U Min Lwin and Education Officer of Naung Cho Township Daw Ni Ni Kyaw and Headmistress of the high school Daw Nan Nyunt Nyunt presided over the ribbon cutting and handover ceremony.

As Thayat Kone Village is in need of classrooms in the village school, teachers and students in the area faced many challenges and difficulties in education. Constructed and donated by AWF, the new school building is a single-storey RC building with length 204 ft x width 36ft x height 12 ft. The building consists of 10 rooms including a science laboratory, 3 halls,4 classrooms, one teacher restroom and a computer library. Furthermore, AWF donated furniture for new building and stocked up stationery supplies for the students.
