Asia World Group of companies ("AWC") proud to be part of supporting partners to“The Investment Fair in Mon State”

MON STATE INVESTMENT FAIR 2019, the first-ever and most significant forum of Mon State, was held from 29th to 30th November 2019 at Strand Hotel, Mawlamyine. SURBANA JURONG MYANMAR mainly organized the event in cooperation with the AJ Myanmar and Myat Padonmar Development Co., Ltd.

The principal objective of the event is to connect and engage the Mon State to be global and national investors and promote its vital sector industries covering Tourism, Agriculture, Mining, and others, to enhance economic development through the creation of more job opportunities for local people. 

The opening address was delivered by His Excellency Dr. Aye Zan, Chief Minister of Mon State, followed by Mr. Lee Leong Seng, Managing Director of Surbana Jurong Myanmar. 

“To create more job opportunities for local people, to develop the socio-economic sector, and most importantly to enhance the development in all sectors in balance, I would like to encourage our investors to spread their investments in all sectors equally. As a Mon State Government, we will fully support to obtain easy and smooth processes when investors start to make investments in Mon State.” said His Excellency Dr. Aye Zan, Chief Minister of Mon State.

The two days long event attracted over 300 people of public and private sectors from local and overseas and the attendees gained industrial knowledge in different fields from an overview of Mon State.

According to the presentation from speakers during the event, the Mon State Vision Master Plan (2035), challenges facing the transport and agricultural sectors to the potential and opportunities of the tourism sector and others.

Following the second day of the event, the most exciting part of this event; a panel discussion on Opportunities and Challenges for investments in Mon State was participated by H.E. U Htun Htay (Minister - Ministry of Agriculture & Livestock, Transportation and Communications), H.E U Hla Tun (Minister of Electricity and Energy), H.E. U Wanna Kyaw (Minister of Planning and Finance), H.E. U Min Kyaw Lwin (Minister of Municipal Affairs and Construction) and H.E. U Tun Min Aung (Minister of Immigration and Human Resources) and moderated by U Myoe Myint, an energy specialist from  World Bank Myanmar.

During the discussion, some of the audience raised their questions, and the panelists responded to their concerns, and the discussion was successfully finished. 

Representatives from the Corporate Communications department of the AWC, participants from Global World Insurance “GWI,” and Asia World Industries “AWI”; subsidiaries of AWC also attended the event to connect with both local and global business partners for potential collaborations.
