Asia World Group of Companies (AWC) is proud to have been the Silver Sponsor for Invest Myanmar Summit 2019, an investment summit held in Nay Pyi Taw attended by State Counselor H.E Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, Ministers, top government officials as well as local and foreign business delegates.

The summit was organized by The Union of Myanmar Federation Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI), Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC), Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA), and Ministry of Investment and Foreign Economic Relations (MIFER) with the aim of advancing long term sustainable growth in investment by local and foreign investors.

The summit showcased effective collaborations between the government and the private sector to present a united front in the development of various states of Myanmar.

Ministers from 10 different states were present at the event to highlight ongoing projects as well share potential projects to pique investor interest in areas of infrastructure, finance, trade, agriculture, fisheries and processing, manufacturing, property, healthcare, education and tourism.

At the Summit, State Counselor H.E. Daw Aung San Suu Kyi told a crowd of investors " Throughout the past 40 years, our region has experienced the greatest surge in economic growth the world has ever seen. This rapid growth within ASEAN and rest of Asia has spearheaded the creation of new trade relations, spurred the invention of new technologies, and facilitated the movement of people, ideas, goods, services, and capital."

AWC displayed leading projects that are ongoing within the groups that spark the repositioning of Myanmar’s economy and related industries. Yangon International Airport, Nay Pyi Taw International Airport, Asia World Port Terminal, Thaukyegat (2) Hydropower Station, and the Rakhine Road Development Project were showcased in the summit.
