STATEMENT OF YANGON AERODROME COMPANY LIMITED

Yangon, Myanmar, 02 March 2022 - The last 2 years have been challenging in all aspects for the aviation industry worldwide, including for Myanmar. International commercial flights have been suspended in Myanmar since the outbreak of COVID-19 in the country March 2020.

YACL, as the operator of Yangon International Airport (YIA), the main aviation gateway of Myanmar, continues to operate without failure. We have been providing essential airport services at YIA for emergency and relief flights for passengers and cargoes the suspension of flights to and from the country. YIA is currently the only international airport operating in Myanmar currently.

In response to recent queries, YACL reiterates that it is not involved in any business of import or sale of jet fuel at YIA, nor anywhere else. YACL’s business activities at YIA are transparent and in line with Myanmar Civil Aviation rules and regulations and ICAO’s Standard and Recommended Practices.

Yangon, 24 September 2020 – This year, Global World Insurance (GWI) marks 7th Anniversary, founded on 23 September 2013, started its service with general and life insurance. The head office was formerly opened on 21 September 2013, in Thein Phyu Road, Pazundaung.

In attendance, Mandalay Region Chief Minister, Dr. Zaw Myint Maung, received the donation. The Foundation recognizes the global and national impact the Pandemic has dramatically created. Yangon, 19 May 2020 – Today, Asia World Port Management (AWPM), the port infrastructure arm of Asia World Group of companies, donated medical equipment and supplies to the Myanmar Port Authority (MPA), as part of a joint effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The donation, while observing social distancing manners, occurred at the office of the Myanmar Port Authority and was attended by U Ni Aung, Managing Director of MPA and his members, and the Asia World Port Management team.


Yangon – 16 December 2019 – Gold Energy Company Limited (“Gold Energy”), a leading hydropower resources provider and subsidiary of Asia World Group of Companies, today congratulated the Myanmar Government on achieving 50% electrification nationwide and said it looks forward to playing a positive role as the country increases reliance on renewable energy.

Gold Energy participated in the celebration marking 50% electrification of the national grid held at the Ministry of Electricity and Energy in Naypyitaw for which the Guests of Honour were Myanmar President U Win Myint and Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Win Khaing. In line with national growth, the Myanmar Government has achieved targets set by the National Electrification Plan.
