Asia World Port Terminal bullish about Myanmar economy with long-term investment in 14 new pieces of equipment

Asia World Port Terminal (AWPT), developed, managed and operated by Asia World Port Management Company Limited (AWPM) and one of the leading players delivering efficient and professional port services in Myanmar, has invested in 14 new pieces of port equipment for the long-term. These include 9 Rubber Tyred Gantry Cranes, 1 Mobile Harbour Crane, 2 Reach Stackers and 2 Empty Container Handlers.

The ceremony to officially commission the new equipment for operations was held on 29 April 2018 and AWPT’s investments are a sure sign of its bullish outlook on the prospects of the port business which it has been operating since 1996-1997. This also signals its strong confidence in the future of Myanmar’s economy, the overall macro-economic development of the country as well as the strong policies of the government.

Asia World Port Terminal also donated 10 million kyats towards Ahlone and Kyimyintine Townships’ development funds and 50 million kyats for the education funds of the families of the Ministry of Transport and Communications
